ChAImp's software is priced for tax-exempt organizations. This page says plainly who qualifies, what we check, what we might ask you for, and how to reach a human — so eligibility never feels like a trapdoor. Verification never blocks you from trying the product; it only gates the first charge.
Nonprofit pricing is for organizations that are tax-exempt — most commonly a U.S. 501(c)(3) — and for the many legitimate shapes that don't fit a database neatly:
If you're in the first group, verification is usually automatic. Everyone else lands with a human — on purpose, not as a failure. That path is core to how this works, and it's staffed.
At signup you'll tell us your organization's legal name and EIN, and check an eligibility statement (the exact text is below — versioned, so what you agreed to is always on record). Then we check the EIN against the IRS's own published data: the Exempt Organizations Business Master File, Publication 78 (deductibility), and the Automatic Revocation list — refreshed monthly from the IRS, not from a third-party service.
We re-check eligibility about once a year, and after each monthly IRS refresh for existing customers. If your organization's status ever changes, you agree to let us know within 30 days.
When automatic checks can't confirm eligibility (common and expected for the manual-path groups above), a reviewer may ask for one of the following:
Documents are uploaded securely, visible only to our reviewers and your own organization, and used for nothing except this decision.
On behalf of the organization named above, I attest that it is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, or operates under a valid group exemption or fiscal sponsorship, or is a public school or government entity; that the EIN I have provided is accurate; and that I am authorized to make this statement for the organization. I understand that ChAImp's nonprofit pricing is conditional on this eligibility, that ChAImp will verify it against IRS records, and that I will notify ChAImp within 30 days if the organization's status changes.
This exact wording is version-pinned: the version and a fingerprint of the text you saw are recorded with your signup, so there is never a question about what was agreed to. If we ever change it, the version number changes with it.
If verification reaches the wrong answer — a name mismatch, a stale IRS record, a shape of organization we didn't anticipate — email contact@chaimp.org with "Eligibility review" in the subject. A person (not a queue-bot) reviews every appeal, and every manual decision is made with a documented reason. Nothing is charged while an appeal is open.
This policy is reviewed alongside our provider and pricing terms; the version of the attestation text above is authoritative as of its stated date.
